For this position, start in standard missionary, on your back with your partner lowering himself down onto you. This is a good cross between the standard missionary and CAT. From this position, you’ll be able to ride him, sort of like in cowgirl, but with the added benefit of the grinding action of your pubic bone and clitoris against his thigh. Mount him, but turned at an angle so you are straddling one of his legs, facing away from him. Have your partner lie on his back, with his knees bent up and feet flat. The 90-degree angle will allow him to better stimulate the internal extensions of your clitoris along the vaginal wall, and you can still work your clitoris manually. Bend 90 degrees over a bed or a couch or even a table with a pillow to cushion your hip bones. This is a much more satisfying version of the traditional doggy-style position. He can thrust as normal, and you have easy (and private) access to your clitoris to help you reach the big O. Lie flat on your stomach and have your partner enter you from behind. This is a good position for anyone who is self-conscious about touching themselves in front of a partner. Not only does this stimulate the clitoris, but it’s a way to target the elusive G-spot. Tuck your pelvis and have your partner penetrate from this angle: Think more up-and-down pumping motions than back-and-forth. Have your partner align the base of his penis (or the object of insertion) so it rubs against the clitoris. His head should be closer to the headboard than it normally would be, for a frame of reference. However, the penetrative partner should be higher up on your body than the standard missionary. Here’s how you do it: As you would normally prepare for the missionary position, lie on your back with your partner on top of you. My guess is you’ve never heard of this sly and amazingly effective take on the missionary position. CAT, or coital alignment (or adjusted) technique Of course, you could simply incorporate more clitoral stimulation or hop on top for more control, but some spicier positions you may not have heard of could seal the deal (hello, pinner). However, just because women are having fewer orgasms than men doesn’t mean they have to. The reasons are numerous: different needs, social rules, emotional experiences and so on and so on and so on. While 95 percent of straight men report that they usually climax during sex, the number drops to 65 percent for straight women. The “orgasm gap” between heterosexual men and women isn’t just real, it’s huge. To say it’s difficult for women to climax during sex is an understatement.
